Daphne's Debut

When we visited Carmel Valley recently, Nana and Grandpa Williams held "Daphne's Debut" for their Carmel contingent of pals. There was music. There was food, drinks and sweets. There were gifts. There were friends. And a baby who slept the entire time. Sadly, the guests were deprived of our gal's cuter wakeful moments.

The baby books tell me that "checking out" and going to sleep is a defense mechanism that babies use when they are over-stimulated. We've all seen it before -- the baby who sleeps through a 3 alarm fire.

After we kissed everyone goodbye, suddenly our little gal woke up and came out of her protective narcoleptic cocoon. So we snapped this shot of her on Nana Williams' lap to mark the occasion of Daphne's first big party.

Party on, Girl. But in the future, try to avoid passing out at parties. You can only get away with that for so many years before you'll get a reputation.

Nana looks pretty wonderful too. Nice to see the two together in their party get-ups.
