Month of Daphne

To celebrate Daphne's four week birthday, we've documented some milestones of her first month with us.

April 28:
Daphne's first bath at the hospital, in expert hands. Oh yeah, this was the day she was born, too.

May 1:
Daphne's first bath at home (not-so-expert hands, but no drowning!)

Later that same day, on the way home from her 1st pediatrician check-up, she makes a pit stop to get the Acura smog checked. Both the car and Daphne check out A-ok.

May 8: At her 2nd pediatric check up, Daphne weighs in at 8 lbs/4 oz. Later, she continues bonding with Nana Williams (just TRY to pry her out of grandma's hands, I dare you).

May 18:
Daphne dines at the Elite Cafe, trying to get her parents out and about. An outdoor table, of course.

May 19: Daphne starts going to the "gym" (that's what they call these lie-down-on-the-floor-and-play things). Her first "gym" visit she mostly looks confused.

May 21: Daphne gets her first meal from someone besides Mom, as Dad takes the bottle in hand. Turns out it is not really ALL about the breast; she will readily take the breast milk from any device!

May 24: Daphne makes a new friend with whom she can share clothes (Barbara J, thank you for the custom-knit fashions and Teddy!)

May 25: Daphne sleeps in her own room for the first time (so we can all sleep a little better). There is an immediate up-tick in hours spent asleep!

May 27: Feeling cocky after the successful bottle feed, we introduce the pacifier. We anticipate a healthy and thriving relationship here. These days they say pacifiers help prevent SIDS. Now if only they knew what caused SIDS.

Daphne has also been spending a little more time in her crib (rather than the bassinet), getting to know the neighbors.

May 28:
Continuing on the recreation theme, Daphne goes surfing on her cozy surfboard which comes with its own tide pool of fish friends! (AKA, 'tummy time' as the books say.)

More Friends of Daphne - a few more shots of Daphne's visitors this month.

Aunt Jerri was in town from Spokane

Aunt Debbie made the trip from South Carolina.

Penny came over to get some snuggle time.
